Description

American Traveler is hiring an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for an Adult Rehab Services unit, working a full-time day shift schedule.

• Adult Rehab Services unit in an inpatient hospital setting
• Day shift, 8 hours/day, 5 days/week, 40 hours/week
• 13-week contract
• Focus on adult patient population requiring occupational therapy across functional, psychosocial, and prevocational domains

Requirements

• Current OT license from the Oklahoma State Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
• License required if applicable
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA only)
• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
• Minimum 1 year of occupational therapy experience
• Knowledge of OT principles, practices, and therapeutic materials
• Ability to interpret physician referrals and prescriptions related to therapy
• Basic computer skills
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

• Evaluate patients across areas including independent living skills, occupational performance, prevocational work adjustment, educational skills, play/leisure abilities, and psychosocial skills
• Develop individualized treatment plans with short- and long-term goals, frequency, and duration of treatment
• Design and fabricate adaptive equipment and orthotic devices; provide joint protection and body mechanics instruction
• Educate patients and families on goals, progress, and home therapy plans
• Assist with discharge planning including equipment orders and home therapy instruction
• May supervise OT students
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have a 6-month separation period before being eligible for a new contract, with a maximum of one extension (26 weeks total) per assignment
• This facility enforces strict compliance deadlines — candidates should be prepared to begin onboarding requirements immediately upon acceptance of an offer
