Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a travel assignment in New Mexico, requiring a minimum of two years of large OR experience and at least one prior 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• Work setting is a hospital Operating Room (OR) department
• 10-hour day shifts with a 0630 start time (8-hour shifts also possible)
• 4 days per week, 40 hours per week
• Weekend and on-call availability required as needed
• Floating between departments or local locations within 20 miles is required
• Epic EMR used; experience preferred but not required — on-site training available
• Ortho, EENT, and/or vascular OR experience is a plus

Requirements

• Active NM or Compact RN license required
• BLS required, completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross
• ACLS and PALS preferred (if obtained, must be from an approved provider)
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a large OR setting required
• Must be able to scrub
• ADN or ASN degree required
• At least one completed 13-week travel assignment required
• English fluency required (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and able to work as part of a team

Additional Information

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and documentation
• Coordinates care through collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team
• Responsible for administering medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols
• Assumes clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel as needed
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible
• Former permanent staff of this health system must have a one-year waiting period before being considered as a traveler
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
