Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for an 8-week travel contract in Las Vegas, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and proficiency with robotic surgical systems.

• Located in the Surgical Services department on the 2nd floor of a main hospital building in Las Vegas, NV
• 11-bed OR suite with a 1:1 patient-to-nurse ratio
• Surgical specialties include general, vascular, surgical oncology, colorectal, GYN oncology, urology, orthopedics, and ortho/neuro spine — Open heart and craniotomy cases are handled by specialty teams
• Standard team staffing consists of 1 RN, 1 CST, and a first assist (FA) as needed per case, with EVS support for room turnover and a unit CNC
• Day shift hours are 6:30 AM–3:00 PM (8-hour) or 6:30 AM–5:00 PM (10-hour)
• 1st call runs from end of shift to 11:00 PM; 2nd call runs from end of shift to 6:30 AM the following day
• Weekend call is 24 hours or can be split into 12-hour segments
• Schedule requires 40 hours per week plus call obligations
• Facility uses Meditec for documentation; experience is expected
• Facility operates 6 Da Vinci Xi, 1 Da Vinci SP, and 1 Da Vinci DV5 robotic systems with 24/7 robot access; familiarity with Da Vinci robotics is required
• No floating requirement

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted; certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment)
• Minimum 2 years of recent OR experience required
• Experience with high-acuity surgical cases required
• Proficiency with Da Vinci robotic systems required
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-performing surgical environment
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration — no Canadian SSNs accepted
• One professional reference required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

• General and GYN surgical residents as well as anesthesia residents are present in the facility
• Team-oriented culture with experienced staff; staff is expected to be proficient across all services except open heart and craniotomy cases
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
