Description

American Traveler is seeking a chemo-certified Oncology Nurse Navigator RN for an outpatient oncology and infusion services role in a rural Colorado community hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of oncology navigation experience and an active ONC certification.

• Outpatient Oncology and Infusion Services department in a rural community hospital setting serving the Four Corners region
• Role combines oncology patient navigation with direct outpatient oncology nursing support across diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up
• Patient population includes oncology patients receiving chemotherapy, biotherapy, and infusion treatments
• 4x10 schedule: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• No weekend or holiday shifts required
• No on-call responsibilities anticipated
• Floating is not required
• EMR: Cerner

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or active Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS/BCLS and ACLS
• ONC (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of Oncology Nurse Navigator experience
• Strong oncology nursing background with experience in an outpatient or infusion setting
• Proficiency in IV starts, port access, and PICC line access
• Strong patient education and care coordination skills
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification preferred
• Experience with infusion nursing preferred
• Prior oncology navigation program experience preferred

Additional Information

• Serves as the central point of coordination for oncology patients, guiding them through diagnosis, treatment planning, and follow-up care
• Collaborates with oncology providers and interdisciplinary care teams to support infusion and clinic workflows
• Responsibilities include coordinating imaging, specialty referrals, prior authorizations, and oral chemotherapy medication management
• Provides psychosocial support and connects patients with appropriate community resources
• Maintains accurate clinical documentation and care coordination records
• 13-week contract
