Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with cardiac and CVICU experience for a night shift position at a Level II Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Decatur, IL.

Details

• ICU position in a 372-bed acute care hospital designated as a Level II Trauma Center
• 20-bed ICU unit with a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (18:00–06:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required as needed to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Charts in Cerner
• Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Cardiac monitoring experience required: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, 12-lead EKG acquisition
• Pre/post cardiac cath and intervention experience required
• Chronic and acute renal failure experience required
• CVA/acute stroke management experience required
• IV therapy skills required: accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line care/management, PICC line management, and IV starts
• Medication experience required: continuous IV sedation, emergency medications, titrating cardiac drips, and titrating vasoactive drips
• Respiratory/thoracic skills required: BiPAP and CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, HFNC, ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, and ventilator management
• Proficiency in infection prevention, isolation precautions/PPE use, and code blue/rapid response protocols required
