Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical unit position at a Magnet, Level I Trauma teaching hospital, requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Night shift position, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts)
Choice of 36 or 48 hours per week available
12-week contract
Short-term acute care hospital setting — Magnet-designated, Level I Trauma Center, and teaching hospital with 1,266 staffed beds
Medical-Surgical unit caring for an acute medicine population including patients with diabetes, renal issues, COPD, abdominal rule-outs, and oncology patients not currently receiving chemotherapy — surgical patients are not cared for on this unit
Patient ratio of 1:6
Telemetry/Med-Surg experience preferred
Charting via Epic
Every other weekend required
Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
No on-call responsibilities
Block scheduling not available
Candidates must reside at least 75 miles from the facility — local candidates are not accepted
Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

Active MO RN license or a Compact RN license with MO as the primary state required at time of consideration
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
Must pass a Relias EKG exam — interpretation and management of dysrhythmias is required
Epic EMR experience required

Additional Information

First-time travelers are welcome to apply
Travelers may work at this health system for up to 18 months before a 3-month break in service is required
Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract, with no RTO during the first week of orientation
Parking passes are available for purchase at various lots near the facility, with options ranging from approximately $63–$73/month depending on location; night shift workers park at no charge in employee parking
