Description

American Traveler is seeking a registered MRI Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week travel contract at a Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital in West Virginia.

Details

• Short-term acute care hospital setting, including inpatient, outpatient, and ER environments
• Level 1 Trauma Center and major teaching hospital affiliated with the Council of Teaching Hospitals and Health Systems (COTH)
• 855 total staffed beds
• MRI department equipped with one Philips scanner
• Department-based caseload averaging 20–25 patients per 24-hour period; travelers never work alone
• Required MRI procedures include abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, spine, and musculoskeletal imaging
• Preferred MRI experience includes CINE, diffusion (non-brain), gradient echo imaging, image post-processing, MIP, multiplanar reconstruction, perfusion, peripheral MR, spectroscopy, spin echo, surface coils, and T1/T2 weighted imaging
• 3x12-hour shifts on consecutive days with varying days; shift times are either 6:00 AM–6:30 PM or 10:00 AM–10:30 PM
• Occasional weekend shifts required
• No on-call requirement
• Charting systems: Cerner and Fuji Synapse (PACS preferred)
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a registered MRI Technologist
• Current BLS, ARRT (MRI), and ARRT Advanced Certification required
• Active WV state ARRT license required; pending licensure is not accepted
• License required if applicable
• Inpatient, outpatient, and ER work experience required
• IV starts required
• PACS and contrast experience preferred
• Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center, teaching hospital, community hospital, or Adult ICU preferred
• Two manager or charge nurse references required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and Social Security Number required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1–Mar 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record accepted

Additional Information

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply provided they hold MRI registration and meet the 2-year experience requirement
• Candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate; those within 75–99 miles may be considered on a case-by-case basis with facility approval
• Former permanent employees of this facility are not eligible to return as travelers until 2 years after their last date of permanent employment
• COVID vaccination is not required
