Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/Stepdown position in Ohio, requiring a minimum of 2 years of RN experience, ACLS certification, and proficiency in telemetry monitoring and high-acuity patient care.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) in a hospital setting
• High-acuity medical patient population including transplant (renal and liver) and complex medical cases
• Telemetry monitoring with dysrhythmia interpretation required
• Specialized procedures include post-procedure recovery for kidney biopsy and paracentesis
• Advanced respiratory support equipment in use, including BiPAP/CPAP and HFNC
• Vasoactive and cardiac drip management, including titration, as well as IV insulin protocols
• Central line and PICC management, and blood product administration
• Charting via Epic EMR; Pyxis medication dispensing system in use
• Night shift: 7pm–7:30am, 3x12-hour shifts
• Every other or every third weekend coverage required
• On-call and float responsibilities required within the health system

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Strong Stepdown/PCU background required
• Experience with transplant, renal, or high-acuity medical patients preferred
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide high-acuity nursing care including management of cardiac and vasoactive drips, advanced respiratory support, renal and liver transplant care, and post-procedure recovery
• No 30-day break between assignments is required when changing representation at this facility (exception does not apply to Sterile Processing Techs)
