Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, requiring 2+ years of high-risk OB experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit within a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
• High-risk (Level 3) OB patient population
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (approximately 2 weekends per month)
• No on-call requirements
• Mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, including to locations up to 50 miles from the home unit
• Charting performed in Cerner

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required — no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of high-risk (Level 3) OB nursing experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate, and NIHSS
• AWHONN Advanced certification preferred
• Proof of COVID vaccination required — no exceptions

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to high-risk obstetric patients in a Level 1 Trauma Center environment
• Clinicians may be floated to a variety of units, including outside their primary area of competency; a team-based care model is used in those instances
• Float notifications may be issued as little as 2 hours prior to shift start
• Scrubs of any color are acceptable
• RTO is capped at 5 days total per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
• No RTO will be approved on weekends, on holidays, or on the day immediately before or after a holiday
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
• Local candidates are accepted and preferred; candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility
