Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Acute Med/Surg Telemetry position in Alamogordo, NM, requiring at least 1 year of relevant nursing experience and an active NM or compact RN license.

Details

• Acute Med/Surg unit in a hospital setting
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required, or approximately 5–6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license in New Mexico or a compact state
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty
• BSN preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates

Additional Information

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and effectiveness
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Educates patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and connects to appropriate resources
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed
• A US Social Security Number is required for consideration — Canadian SINs are not accepted
• Two professional references are required for consideration
• Copies of all active certifications must be provided — expired certifications will result in disqualification
