Description

American Traveler is hiring a Chemo-Certified Oncology Infusion RN for an outpatient infusion center role in a rural Colorado community hospital, requiring a minimum of 2 years of oncology nursing experience and active OCN and ONS certifications.

• Outpatient hospital-based infusion center serving oncology patients in a rural community hospital setting
• Department: Oncology / Infusion Services
• Patient population consists of oncology and infusion therapy patients
• Responsibilities include chemotherapy administration, infusion therapy, IV starts, port access, and central line care
• Uses infusion pumps for monitoring and managing infusion therapy
• EMR: Cerner
• Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m. (40 hours/week)
• Occasional Friday coverage may be requested as needed
• No weekend, holiday, or on-call requirements

Requirements

• Active CO or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of oncology nursing experience
• ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification required
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with IV starts, port/PICC access, and central line care
• Cerner EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Administer chemotherapy and infusion medications, monitor patients for adverse reactions, and perform ongoing patient assessments
• Provide patient education regarding treatments, medications, and symptom management
• Document all care within Cerner EMR and coordinate with oncology providers and the interdisciplinary team
• Assist with treatment preparation, chart review, lab order verification, and insurance authorization
• Outpatient infusion clinic experience and prior experience in an oncology infusion setting are preferred
