Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN - PACU for a 13-week travel contract at a Level I trauma center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of Phase 1 PACU experience and AHA-certified BLS, ACLS, and PALS.

Details

• Work in the PACU (Phase 1) of a Level I trauma center, providing care to a high-complexity post-operative patient population
• Day shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts (0830–1700)
• 40 hours per week
• On-call requirement of one day per week, plus every 5th weekend (Saturday and Sunday together)

Requirements

• Active RN license (compact or Oklahoma state license), no pending licenses accepted
• Current AHA certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and PALS
• CPAN, TNCC, and CCRN are highly desirable
• Minimum 2 years of recent Phase 1 PACU experience in a hospital setting required; surgical center experience does not qualify
• Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program required
• BSN is highly desired
• Must possess strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work independently
• US Social Security Number required
• Date of birth required for consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references preferred, verifying experience within the previous 12 months, with at least one from the most recent employer

Additional Information

• Monitor post-operative patients' levels of consciousness and recovery from anesthesia, providing updates to the medical team as needed
• Obtain and record vital signs; observe patients for anesthesia-related side effects
• Administer medications to treat post-operative pain, nausea, and other symptoms as prescribed
• Maintain accurate charting and medical records in the EMR
• Educate patients and their families on post-surgery care
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify; no local candidates accepted
• Candidates must reside at least 100 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
