Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring prior travel experience, Epic proficiency, and a minimum of 5 years of Med/Surg Tele experience or 3 years of Tele experience.

Details

• Acute Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• 12-hour night shifts, scheduled Monday through Sunday
• Every other weekend requirement at minimum, with schedule adjusted to meet unit and patient care needs
• No block schedules permitted for any reason
• Bedside procedures include NG tube insertion, peripheral IV insertion, and telemetry strip interpretation
• Epic EMR is used and experience is required

Requirements

• Active VT or Compact RN license required; NY license accepted with proof of pending licensure
• Required certifications: AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and NIHSS (NIHSS must be obtained prior to start); Telemetry certification preferred
• Minimum 5 years of Med/Surg Tele experience OR 3 years of Tele-only experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must have completed 2 travel assignments at 300+ bed facilities OR have previous experience at a UVMHN acute care facility
• Epic experience within the past 2 years required
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required, as public transportation is not accessible in this area
• Vehicle must be equipped with all-season or snow tires from November through April
• At least two professional references from a Nurse Manager and/or Supervisor required — one from within the past 6 months and one from within the past year
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• 16-week contract with potential extension up to 32 weeks
• Bi-weekly Monday orientations available
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are considered local; those 51–100 miles away qualify for a different pay tier; distance is measured in a straight line, not by driving distance
• Employment gaps of more than 90 days must be explained in the candidate profile
• Complete work history including bed count, EMR, and facility type is required for consideration
