Description

American Traveler is hiring an IR Technologist with 2+ years of experience to work in a high-volume interventional radiology department covering both vascular and neuro procedures in an acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Acute care hospital interventional radiology department covering both vascular and neuro procedures
• Body/Vascular IR rooms use Canon equipment; Neuro rooms use Siemens Artis Q and Siemens Iconos; GE ultrasound used in all rooms
• Department performs approximately 20–30 cases per day
• Charting system: Epic
• 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• On-call requirements include 1–2 call shifts per week plus every 3rd or 4th weekend, with a 30-minute callback time
• Possible holiday call coverage required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of IR Technologist experience required
• ARRT(R) and BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Strong neuro IR proficiency required, including cerebrals, coilings, kyphoplasty, spine work, stroke therapy, and carotid stenting
• Experience with vascular IR procedures required
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Radiation dosimetry badge required — must be provided prior to start (facility does not supply)
• License required if applicable
• Driver's license address must be located more than 50 miles from the facility
• Two supervisor/peer references required for consideration, including a skills checklist completed within the past year
• Copies of certifications and driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include hemodynamic monitoring, sterile technique, patient ECG and blood pressure monitoring, procedure documentation, and participation in on-call rotation
• Technologists serve as part of the code team, initiating resuscitative measures and cardiac defibrillation under physician supervision
• Role includes instruction of radiography students in clinical settings
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Candidates who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before being considered
• Travelers are not permitted to work within the WVU system for longer than one cumulative year; a 2-year break is required before returning
