Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring at least 2 years of L&D experience and advanced fetal monitoring certification.

Details

• Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• Labor & Delivery unit with 4 antepartum rooms, 9 labor/high-risk rooms, and 3 triage rooms
• Patient population includes high-risk pregnancies, vaginal deliveries, and C-sections
• Fetal heart monitoring and high-risk pregnancy monitoring performed on unit
• Float to postpartum required when staffing needs arise; ability to provide postpartum couplet care (maternal and newborn) is a bonus
• Newborn role in the delivery room is frequently performed; additional skills in this area are a plus
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR experience required
• Scrubs are Navy Blue for RNs; L&D scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required (pending license not accepted)
• Current certifications required: AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring or NCC EFM, ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NRP, and FHM
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate; local candidates within 50 miles should inquire about the local rate
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• All travelers may be expected to float between facilities within the state; refusal to float may result in assignment termination
• Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; post-offer RTO requests are subject to denial
• This is a beachside acute care hospital with 266 staffed beds
