Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU position at an acute care hospital in California, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and an active CA RN license.

Details

• Night shift position, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• NICU setting within a 320-bed acute care hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:3 — experience at this ratio is required
• Level 3 NICU environment
• Floating may be required to the mother-baby unit and potentially between facilities within the state
• Weekends required as needed; frequency may exceed every other weekend to accommodate unit needs
• No on-call responsibilities
• Charting system: Meditech
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required — pending licensure is not accepted
• Current BLS certification required; NRP Advanced preferred
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required (candidates with 1.5 years may be screened on a case-by-case basis)
• Experience with a 1:3 patient ratio is required
• First-time travelers are welcome but must have a minimum of 4 years of Level 3 NICU experience
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty and setting required for consideration
• SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Royal blue scrubs required for RN staff
• RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration — post-offer scheduling changes are subject to denial
• Scheduling requests based on outside employment will not be accommodated
• Holiday RTO will be submitted as preferences only
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
• Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment
