Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cath Lab RN for a 13-week travel contract requiring a Maryland or compact RN license and a minimum of 3 years of cardiac cath lab experience.
Details
- Position is in a hospital Cath Lab unit with 2 cath lab rooms and an average daily census of 7–14 cases
- Patient population includes those diagnosed with Acute Coronary Syndrome, CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, AFib, and Bradycardia
- Procedures include Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI), pacemaker insertion, loop monitors, TEE, and cardioversions
- Equipment includes Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS)
- Schedule is 4x10-hour day shifts (07:00–17:30) with one scheduled late shift per week (10:00–20:30) to accommodate cases that run over
- On-call shifts run Monday–Friday from 17:30–07:00 and 24-hour shifts (07:00–07:00) on weekends and holidays, with approximately 10–13 call shifts per month
- Weekend work is required based on department needs and on-call scheduling
- Holiday coverage is required as shifts fall on the schedule
- Floating to pre-op/PACU within the unit and specialty is required as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license in Maryland (MD) or a compact state license currently in hand
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- CPI certification required (may be completed on-site during orientation)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of cardiac cath lab experience required
- Must be able to arrive at the facility within 30 minutes when scheduled for an on-call shift
Additional Information
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply provided they have a documented background of at least 3 years in a cardiac cath lab
- Any time-off requests should be disclosed upfront at the time of consideration
