Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a day shift hospital position requiring at least 1 year of experience, EKG competency, and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Patient population includes chronic ventilator patients requiring telemetry monitoring
• Competency in EKG use and rhythm strip interpretation required
• Experience initiating and maintaining cardiac drips (e.g., dobutamine, amiodarone, cardizem) is preferred
• Charting via Epic (experience preferred)
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active IL RN license currently in hand (pending licenses not accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of telemetry RN experience required
• Proficiency in cardiac rhythm strip interpretation required (EKG strip test administered at orientation)
• Chronic ventilator patient experience required

Additional Information

• Assess acute changes in patients and manage care in a fast-paced telemetry environment
• Must pass an EKG strip test during orientation
• RTO limited to a maximum of 7 days for the duration of the contract; all time-off requests must be submitted upfront
• Block scheduling is not available for this position
