Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Oncology/Hematology Charge Nurse position requiring 3 years of oncology and charge experience, with night shifts and a California RN license.

Details

• Inpatient oncology/hematology unit specializing in blood disorders (e.g., leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma) and a broad range of cancers
• Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Administers and monitors complex treatments including chemotherapy, blood transfusions, and CAR T-cell therapy
• Uses Epic EMR (experience required)
• Schedule is 3x12-hour night shifts, 19:00–07:00
• Weekend rotation required
• Floating required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and Chemotherapy (CHEMO)
• Minimum 3 years of inpatient oncology experience required
• Minimum 3 years of charge nurse experience required
• Chemotherapy administration experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Hematology experience preferred
• BMT, stem cell therapy, and CAR T-cell/immunotherapy experience preferred
• Experience with oncologic emergencies (e.g., tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, sepsis, hemorrhage) preferred
• Proficiency with central lines, PICC lines, ports, and IV therapy preferred

Additional Information

• Leads daily unit operations including staffing, patient flow, and charge nurse responsibilities
• Mentors nursing staff and collaborates with the multidisciplinary care team
• Manages complex oncology treatments and ensures patient safety protocols are followed
• 36 hours of orientation provided
• Caribbean blue scrubs required; not provided by the unit
