Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week acute care assignment at a Level II Trauma facility, working 8-hour day shifts Thursday through Monday.
Details
- Acute care hospital setting at a Level II Trauma facility
- Rehabilitation department alongside PT and Speech Therapy teams, with potential to float to other areas as assigned
- Patient population includes orthopedic, post-surgical, neurological, and trauma cases across inpatient and outpatient settings
- Inpatient caseload of up to 13 patients per day; outpatient caseload of up to 9 patients per day; rehab caseload varies
- Rehab aides and OTAs are available on-site to assist
- 8-hour day shifts, Thursday through Monday
- Holidays are not required
- Cerner PowerChart EMR in use
Requirements
- Active OT state license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
- NBCOT certification required
- Minimum 2 years of OT experience required
- BLS certification required
- Active certifications must be current; pending certifications will not be accepted
- Cerner experience preferred
- Travel experience preferred
- Trauma experience preferred
- 2 professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide occupational therapy services across inpatient, outpatient, and/or rehab areas as assigned by the facility
- Orientation is approximately 1.5 days, conducted at the department level rather than hospital-wide; Cerner training is included if needed
- Scrub color/uniform: maroon polo shirt, dark-colored pants, and closed-toed shoes are required; a lab coat is optional
- Candidates must not have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity-affiliated facility within the past year; candidates placed PRN through outside firms will be considered
- Candidates with inpatient clinical experience may be considered even without a full year of experience
