Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Sonographer with ARDMS or CCI credentials and a minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases, experienced in TAVR and MitraClip procedures.

Details

• Work in a premier cardiac center's non-invasive services department within an inpatient hospital setting
• Dedicated inpatient echocardiography work with adult cardiac patient population
• Procedures include adult echo studies, contrast echocardiography, agitated saline studies, and structural heart procedure imaging including TAVR and MitraClip
• Preferred procedures also include TEE, stress echo, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols
• Preferred experience with Philips ie33 and Epiq ultrasound systems
• Epic used for charting; familiarity preferred
• 4x10 hour shifts, Tuesday through Saturday, 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer credential through ARDMS or CCI required
• Current BLS certification from the AHA required
• Active NJ license required if applicable
• Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases required, verified by institutional referral
• Must be highly proficient in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills
• Must have hands-on experience scanning TAVR and MitraClip at a facility where these procedures are performed
• High School Diploma or GED required; graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position

Additional Information

• Perform high-quality adult echocardiography studies in accordance with ASE and IAC guidelines
• Must be able to work independently, recognize cardiac abnormalities, and respond quickly to critical findings
• Responsible for reviewing prior reports, images, and patient charts prior to each study to ensure completeness and appropriate technique
• Maintains ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards preferred
• 3D echo imaging familiarity is preferred
• Travelers who have completed one calendar year at this facility must take a 30–60 day break before returning to a new assignment
