Description

American Traveler is hiring an Ultrasound Technologist / Sonographer with inpatient echo experience and ARDMS or CCI registration for a cardiac-focused role requiring proficiency in TAVR and Mitraclip scanning.

Details

• Inpatient cardiac echo department within an acute care hospital setting
• Adult echocardiography patient population with complex structural heart cases
• Procedures include adult echo studies per ASE & IAC guidelines, contrast echocardiography, agitated saline studies, and structural heart protocols including TAVR and Mitraclip
• Preferred experience with TEE, Stress Echo, 3D echo imaging, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, VAD, and closure device protocols
• Preferred familiarity with Philips ie33 and Epiq ultrasound systems
• Epic used for charting; familiarity preferred
• 4x10 hour shifts, Sunday through Thursday, 10:30 AM – 6:30 PM
• May be required to float to a nearby sister hospital

Requirements

• Registered Cardiac Diagnostic Medical Sonographer credential from ARDMS or CCI required
• Current BLS certification from AHA required
• Active NJ license required if applicable
• Minimum of 200 documented inpatient echocardiography cases required, verified by institutional referral
• Must be highly trained and comfortable scanning TAVR and Mitraclip, with direct experience at a facility performing these procedures
• Proficiency in valvular assessment with strong spectral Doppler and Pedoff skills required
• High school diploma or GED required
• Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES Cardiovascular Technology Program preferred
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
• Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

• Prepares patients for examination, explains procedures in clear terms, and monitors patients throughout the ultrasound process
• Reviews prior reports, images, and patient charts to ensure studies are complete, appropriate techniques are used, and findings are communicated to the reading physician
• Maintains exam records, logs, and inventory of supplies for the assigned area
• Must be able to work independently, recognize abnormalities, and respond quickly to critical findings
• Experience maintaining ICAEL-accreditation echo lab standards is preferred
• 13-week contract
