Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) position in Alexandria, LA, requiring at least 1 year of cardiovascular surgery nursing experience and active BLS and ACLS certifications.

Details

Day shift position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
General surgical/cardiovascular OR setting within a hospital environment
On-call required both during the week and on weekends
13-week contract

Requirements

Active RN license in Louisiana or a compact state currently in hand
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
Minimum 1 year of experience in cardiovascular surgery or a related nursing specialty
US Social Security Number required for consideration
BSN preferred

Additional Information

Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
Administers medications and treatments per protocol and monitors for side effects and treatment effectiveness
Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided
Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers
Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for travel pay rates
Two professional references required for consideration
Copies of all certifications must be current and active — expired certifications will result in disqualification
