Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Labor & Delivery night shift position requiring a minimum of 7 years of experience and an active Colorado or Compact RN license.

Details

• Labor & Delivery (L&D) unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes women in active labor, postpartum patients, and newborns
• Responsibilities span the full continuum of maternal-infant care: labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 hours per week
• May be required to rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs
• On-call is required for this position
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current BLS (CPR) certification required
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required within one year of employment
• ACLS certification required within one year of employment
• Minimum 7 years of experience required
• Obstetrics nursing experience required
• Proficiency in IV medication administration, sterile technique, and infection control principles
• Ability to perform effectively in high-stress situations
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform heavy lifting
• Exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious diseases is expected in this role

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include monitoring labor progress, preparing for C-sections and inductions, administering medications, and maintaining accurate nursing documentation
• Provides emotional support to patients, prepares the delivery room, and coordinates patient transfers as needed
• Delivers patient and family education throughout the labor, delivery, and postpartum process
• Reports directly to the Birth Center Manager
• COVID-19 vaccination is not required for this position
