Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a circulating role at an ambulatory surgery center in Colorado, requiring a CO or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of surgical experience.

• Ambulatory surgery center (ASC) environment
• Operating room circulator role covering a range of surgical specialties
• Full-time schedule, 32 hours per week
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active CO RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications: BLS/BCLS, ACLS, and PALS
• Minimum of 2 years of OR/surgical nursing experience required
• Associate's degree from an accredited nursing program required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• CNOR certification and AORN professional affiliation preferred

Additional Information

• Responsible for circulating duties throughout all phases of the patient's surgical experience, including pre-op, intra-op, and post-op assessment and care
• Ensures proper supplies, instruments, and equipment are available and functioning prior to procedures
• Administers medications, IV procedures, and other therapeutic or diagnostic measures safely and accurately
• Maintains sterile technique, performs equipment checks, and troubleshoots specialized and patient monitoring equipment
• Participates in quality improvement initiatives, in-service education, and continuing education related to surgical specialties and ASC standards
• Assists with orientation and provides guidance to other staff members as needed
• Remains prepared to respond calmly and immediately in emergency situations
