Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position at a Level 3 Trauma facility in Athens, TN, requiring a minimum of 1 year of experience and an active TN or Compact RN license.

Details

• Medical/Surgical unit within an acute care hospital setting serving adult and geriatric patients (no pediatrics)
• Common diagnoses and treatments include pneumonia, CVA, chest pain, post-surgical care, electrolyte imbalances, and DVT
• Patient ratio of 6:1 with a current max census of 18 patients (expanding to 24)
• Equipment includes bladder scanners and glucometers
• EMR system: Medhost
• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend hours required (23 weekend hours per week)
• No on-call or float requirements
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active RN license valid in Tennessee (TN state license or Compact license) required
• Current BLS certification required prior to start (RQI certifications are not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Critical care thinking skills preferred
• Social Security number required for consideration
• Date of birth required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg patients in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
• Candidates must reside 60 or more miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible
• Candidates may not be employed full-time elsewhere during the assignment
• All clinical staff working in Tennessee must be cleared through the Tennessee Abuse Registry prior to the assignment start date
• Orientation is held bi-weekly on Mondays
• Any color scrubs are acceptable; casual wear is not permitted
