Description

American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Med/Surg position at a critical access hospital in Iowa, requiring an active IA or compact RN license and BLS/ACLS certifications.

Details

• Full-time night shift position: 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Adult Med/Surg patient population
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday rotation required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active Iowa RN license or compact license currently in hand
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association required
• Two recent employment references required for consideration
• COVID-19 vaccination required
• Flu vaccination required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31)
• Immunizations required: MMR, Varicella, Polio, Hepatitis B Series (or signed declination), and current TDaP (within 10 years)
• Negative 2-step Mantoux TB test within 1 year of start, or QuantiFERON Gold (positive results require proof and chest X-ray)
• Proof of physical exam within 1 year of start date
• 10-panel drug screen within 1 month of start date
• Respiratory fit test within 1 year of start date
• Criminal background check (all states where licensed or lived/worked in the past 7 years) within 30 days of start date
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter Certificates (Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse) required prior to start

Additional Information

• Responsible for total patient care using the nursing process: assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs
• Directs and guides patient teaching and activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards
• Completion of CareLearning education modules required prior to start date
• Experience is preferred but not required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
