Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a NICU position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, requiring a minimum of 2 years of NICU experience and an active IL RN license.

Details

• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
• Charting performed in Cerner
• This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, including to locations outside the primary unit and potentially outside primary competency area
• No on-call requirements
• Local candidates are accepted and preferred; candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required; no pending licensure accepted
• Minimum 2 years of NICU experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, NRP, and NIHSS
• Proof of COVID vaccination required; no exceptions

Additional Information

• Level 1 Trauma Center setting
• When floated outside of primary competency, a team-based care model is utilized
• Floating to other Cook County facilities may be required, with float locations within 50 miles of the primary facility; notification may be provided as little as 2 hours before a shift
• RTO is capped at 5 days maximum for the contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
• RTO on weekends will not be approved
• No RTO on holidays, or the day before or after a holiday
• No block scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accommodated
• Any color scrubs are permitted
