Description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist with at least 1 year of experience and proficiency in Epic EMR for a travel assignment at a Level I Adult Trauma Center in Columbia, SC.

Details

• Work setting includes adult acute care and outpatient MRI environments within a 641-bed regional community teaching medical center
• Designated Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center offering advanced cardiac, stroke, and vascular services
• Patient population spans all age groups from neonate through older adult
• Imaging competencies required include chest, abdomen, pelvis, head (with and without contrast), musculoskeletal trauma, and spine (cervical, thoracic, and lumbar)
• Equipment includes GE, Philips, Siemens, and Toshiba MRI systems, as well as PACS
• Epic EMR with a minimum of 1 year of experience required
• Schedule is 3x12-hour day shifts, Friday through Sunday, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Floating to other units or campuses may be required based on census, limited to areas where competency has been demonstrated

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI Tech experience
• Active ARRT(MR) and ARRT(R) certifications required
• Active SC QRSA license required; license required if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
• Proficiency in contrast media preparation and administration, including starting peripheral IVs
• Experience with isolation precautions
• Two professional references required for consideration
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from Prisma Health Richland Hospital to be eligible

Additional Information

• Perform MRI imaging of the chest, abdomen, pelvis, head, musculoskeletal structures, and spine across a broad patient population
• Administer contrast media and place peripheral IVs as part of standard imaging procedures
• Facility's goal is to keep staff in their home unit; floating is required per system policy and is limited to units where competencies are already documented
• RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of booking and are subject to facility approval
• The facility may call off staff up to 1 shift per 2-week period
