Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a high-acuity ICU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience, with night shift availability and proficiency with advanced critical care equipment.

Details

• 24-bed ICU unit with overflow capacity up to 36 beds, serving a high-acuity patient population including neuro, cardiac, and post-surgical cases
• Advanced equipment in use includes Alaris pumps, ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, pressors, IABP, EVD, ICP, TVP, CRRT, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheter, and ECMO
• Typical patient ratio of 1:2–3
• Epic EHR used; prior experience preferred
• 12-hour night shifts
• Every other weekend and every other holiday required
• Floating to all levels of care required as needed
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active OH RN license or compact license currently in hand
• Current BLS required; ACLS required within 6 months
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to qualify for the travel pay rate
• Proof of address required for consideration (acceptable documents: Driver's License, Voter Registration card, Federal Income Tax return, Military Form No. 2058, or W-2 from US government)
• Full SSN and DOB (MM/DD) required for consideration
• 1 supervisory reference required
• Copy of current certifications required

Additional Information

• Provides care to adult and geriatric patients (ages 18 and older)
• Responsibilities include ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, Swan-Ganz catheter management, transvenous pacing assistance, and conscious sedation administration
• Overnight provider coverage includes an intensivist, a hospitalist team of two mid-levels and two residents, a rapid response team, a resource RN, and a house supervisor available 24/7
• Scheduling begins at the end of the current schedule period based on unit need, with traveler preferences considered; self-scheduling opens at the next scheduling period
• Pass/fail EKG (dysrhythmia) exam required on the first day with two attempts allowed; a study guide will be provided
