Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Joplin, MO, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• Works in an OR Complex with 11 operating rooms
• Surgical patient population in an intraoperative setting
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Uses Stryker equipment
• EMR: Epic
• Day shift: 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, 3x12 schedule
• Weekends required as needed by the facility
• Call required as needed by the facility
• Floating required as needed by the facility
• Rotating holiday coverage required

Requirements

• Active RN license — must meet eligibility criteria for licensure in Missouri or hold a current MO or compact RN license
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of OR experience required
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
• No gaps in employment of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• No expiring certifications within the first 30 days of assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include utilizing the nursing process to provide patient care, maintaining professional accountability, evaluating care provided by other direct caregivers, coordinating care across departments, and upholding patient rights and confidentiality
• Ceil blue scrubs are provided by the facility
• Flu vaccination is required for all travelers from November 1 through April 1; exemptions must be approved by the facility
• Up to 5 days of requested time off (RTO) is allowed but must be made up during the assignment
• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• Local candidates within 50 miles are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts at this facility; after that, a minimum 1-year separation or transfer outside the 50-mile radius is required
• The facility holds a Level 2 Trauma Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and Level 2 STEMI Center designation
• The facility has received a Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade of B (Fall 2024) and a CMS 3-Star Rating
