Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position in St. Louis, MO, requiring at least 1 year of inpatient Med/Surg experience and an active MO or compact RN license.

Details

• 13-week contract on the 7 East Medical Telemetry unit of a 60-bed inpatient hospital floor
• Night shift schedule, 19:00–07:30
• Medical patient population, including patients with post-trauma, surgical interventions, and medical comorbidities
• Patient ratio of 1:5 or 1:6
• Equipment used includes bladder scanners, vein finders, IV pumps, and wound vacs
• EMR: Epic
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to a similar or lower acuity unit as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license — must meet eligibility requirements for licensure in Missouri or hold a current MO or compact state license
• Current BLS certification from AHA
• ACLS from AHA preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient Med/Surg experience
• Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)
• No employment gaps of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• Ability to stand and walk for most of the shift, with significant bending, stooping, and lifting/turning patients with assistance
• Ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs and pinch up to 15 lbs

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care across all age groups, and coordination with ancillary departments
• Black scrubs required; no other scrub colors accepted
• Night shift orientation is conducted on day shift — candidates must be available the full orientation week
• Flu vaccination (or Mercy-approved exemption) is required from November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted
• Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up before the end of the assignment
• Only 1 holiday RTO request is permitted per assignment
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but subject to a reduced bill rate
• Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are limited to 3 consecutive 13-week contracts; after that, a 1-year separation or transfer outside the 50-mile radius is required
• The facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center, a Joint Commission Comprehensive Stroke Center, and a Level 1 STEMI Center
