Description
American Traveler is seeking a Flex Pool RN for a float position across medical and surgical units at a Hawaii hospital, requiring a valid HI RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience on night shifts.
Details
- Float position covering multiple medical and surgical units, including a Medical Unit (77 beds), Laulima Surgical Acute Unit (18 beds), and Cardiovascular Unit (15 beds)
- Adult med-surg and step-down patient populations
- Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit: Medical 1:6 (days/evenings) and 1:8 (nights), Laulima 1:6, Cardiovascular 1:4 — ratios may vary due to unexpected leave
- 12-hour night shifts (1845–0715), scheduled 36 hours per week following the first week of orientation
- Meditech EMR in use
- Equipment includes Pyxis medication dispensing, wound vacs, and chest tubes
Requirements
- Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Required certifications: BLS/BCLS and ACLS
- Preferred certifications: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC
- Documented proof of immunity required; medical and religious exemptions will not be accepted in lieu of documentation
Additional Information
- Flex RN role floats between the Medical Unit, Laulima Surgical Acute Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit
- Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent practice
- All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours before the assignment start date; candidates should plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start to attend a Friday morning Employee Health appointment
- Professional nursing attire (clean scrubs) required
- 13-week contract
