Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel Inpatient Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience for a Level 2 trauma center offering a diverse adult and pediatric caseload across acute inpatient, ICU, and inpatient rehab settings.

Details

• Acute inpatient hospital setting at a Level 2 adult and pediatric trauma center and primary stroke center
• Adult and pediatric patient population spanning ICU, acute inpatient, acute inpatient rehab, neuro, ortho, oncology, general med/surg, and a stroke specialty program
• Therapist caseload averages approximately 9 evaluations and 16 treatments per day
• All inpatient areas may require coverage, including adult and pediatric ICUs and inpatient rehab programs
• Day shift, 8-hour variable days; self-scheduling is not permitted
• Weekend coverage is required with compensatory days scheduled
• Holiday coverage is required
• Charting system is Cerner, which is transitioning to Epic
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active OT license required by start date (license required if applicable)
• Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• NBCOT certification preferred
• Proficiency in ADL evaluation and clinical documentation justifying next level of care
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple inpatient units and patient populations
• 2 professional references required for consideration: 1 supervisor reference from within the last 12 months of relevant experience, and 1 peer or supervisor reference from within the last 3 years

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include ADL evaluations, clinical documentation, and cross-coverage across adult and pediatric acute inpatient, ICU, and rehab areas
• Team includes 1 rehab aide and 1 COTA
• Department orientation length varies based on individual skill level
• OT professionals are subject to a credentialing process that can take up to 2 months or longer from submission to start; all onboarding including state licensure must be completed by specific credentialing deadlines or the start date may be delayed
• Any solid color, clean and professional scrubs are acceptable
• Candidates who previously worked at this facility as permanent staff must have an end date at least 6 months prior to their submission date
• Candidates living within 80 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a reduced bill rate
