Description
American Traveler is hiring an Echo Technologist / Cardiac Sonographer for a cardiovascular non-invasive unit, requiring a minimum of 3 years of experience and ARDMS and CCI certifications.
Details
- Non-invasive cardiovascular unit within an acute care hospital setting
- Primarily adult patient population with exposure to pediatric echocardiography
- Performs high-quality 2D, M-Mode, color flow Doppler, pulsed and continuous-wave Doppler, and contrast echocardiography studies
- Provides technical assistance with exercise, dobutamine, and pharmacological stress echocardiograms
- Assists with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
- Epic EMR — experience required
- Monday–Friday day shift, 8 hours/day, 40 hours/week; start times vary between 6:45 AM and 7:30 AM
- Participates in callback rotation
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant echo/cardiac sonography experience
- Associate's Degree in Ultrasound required
- ARDMS (American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography) certification required
- CCI (Cardiovascular Credentialing International) in Echocardiography required
- BLS (AHA) required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Level 1 Trauma experience required
- Proficiency in recognizing cardiac abnormalities, imaging artifacts, and distinguishing normal from abnormal findings
- Knowledge of gross and sectional anatomy
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Performs complete echocardiographic studies using parasternal, apical, subcostal, and suprasternal notch windows
- Evaluates left and right ventricular systolic and diastolic function, documents wall motion abnormalities, and assesses valvular insufficiencies and blood flow abnormalities
- Recognizes congenital heart malformations and acquired pathologies, and correlates clinical history with the cardiologist
- Participates in mobile echo/vascular service regionally
- Completes quarterly competencies in stress lab, Holter monitoring, and event monitoring
- Maintains monthly correlation studies and monthly statistics
- RTO not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract
- Travelers who have been on assignment at this health system for 1 year must take a 6-month break before returning to any location within the system
