Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position specializing in GYN procedures, including robotic surgery, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience and an active NC or compact RN license.

Details

Hospital-based Operating Room unit specializing in GYN surgical procedures
Patient population consists of women ages 12 and up; no oncology cases
Specializes in GYN procedures including hysterectomies (vaginal, abdominal, robotic, laparoscopic), laparoscopies, hysteroscopies, D&C, robotic procedures (endometriosis treatment, sacrocolpoexy, pelvic work), bladder slings, cystoscopies, bulkamid injections, interstims, exploratory laparotomy, cold knife cones, and LEEP procedures — including therapeutic abortions (TABs)
1:1 patient ratio
Special equipment includes da Vinci robotic surgical system, Novasure, and Myosure
EMR: Epic (also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication)
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
On-call expectation is typically once per week, 5:00 PM–7:00 AM; frequency may increase due to call-outs
Weekend call may be required if weekend staff is off
Holiday call rotation required
May float to other surgical services areas
Scrubs are provided by the facility

Requirements

Active NC or compact RN license required
Current BLS certification required
Minimum 2 years of OR nursing experience required
Circulating experience required
Robotic surgery experience preferred (da Vinci)
First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Additional Information

Responsibilities include circulating for GYN surgical cases including robotic-assisted procedures
No RTO is permitted after booking; any call-offs or additional RTO could result in contract cancellation
Local candidates are accepted for this position
13-week contract minimum; longer contracts may be available
