Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a Level I Trauma facility, requiring a minimum of 2 years of OR experience with on-call responsibilities and night shift availability.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting in a high-volume Operating Room with 21 rooms and an average daily census of 70-80
- OR Core specialties include General, Plastics, GYN, ENT, Trauma, Neuro, Ortho, GU, Colorectal, and Robotics cases
- Circulating skills are required; scrub skills are preferred
- OR RNs are expected to be well-rounded and current in most surgical specialties; CV and Transplant are excluded from float expectations
- Floating is required within scope to meet facility needs, including to affiliate hospitals nearby
- Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 19:00–07:30
- On-call required: approximately 6 call shifts per 6-week period, subject to variation
- No block scheduling
- Holiday coverage required: must work 2 out of 3 major holidays
- Charting is performed in Cerner (experience required)
- Scrubs are provided by the facility
- Free parking available
Requirements
- Active IN or Compact RN license currently in hand at time of consideration
- Current BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted)
- Minimum of 2 years of OR RN experience required; candidates with at least 1 year of Level I Trauma OR experience may be considered with 18 months of total OR experience
- Level I Trauma OR experience required
- Cerner EMR experience required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited institution required
- Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred

- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates residing within Indiana are accepted for this Periop/OR position
- Former permanent or PRN employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 12 months before being considered as a traveler
- Up to 5 days of RTO can be auto-approved; requests must align with scheduling policies
- Indiana RN travelers are generally restricted from working at this health system, but Periop/OR RNs are explicitly exempt from this restriction
