Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring a TX or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience, with on-call availability required.
Details
- Located in a community hospital Cath Lab/EP setting
- Unit covers Diagnostic, Interventional, and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab procedures, as well as Pre/Post Procedure care
- Procedures performed include cardiac catheterizations (left and right heart), PCI, cardiac stent placement, IABP placement/removal, Impella insertion, ventricular assist device insertion, pacemaker/defibrillator insertion and lead extraction, carotid angiography, renal artery stent placement, angioplasty, and upper/lower extremity angiography
- TEE (Transesophageal Echocardiogram) experience is preferred
- On-call is required for this position
- Day shift schedule: 4x10-hour shifts, approximately 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (end time may vary)
- GE MacLab and MedHost experience preferred
- Altera/Allscripts charting system — Altera experience preferred but not required
Requirements
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience required
- Proficiency with cardiac medications including antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, IV vasopressors, thrombolytics, procedural sedation, and reversal agents
- Skills required include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, sheath removal/monitoring, ACT monitoring, vascular closure systems, topical hemostasis, procedural sedation monitoring, cardioversion, radiation and laser safety, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
- Travel experience strongly preferred
- Must reside more than 150 miles from the facility or in a metropolitan area to be eligible for this position
- Two supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
Additional Information
- Candidates must be available to complete required lab work within 72 hours of accepting an offer
- The facility conducts its own drug screen upon arrival, which includes marijuana — a positive result is an automatic cancellation with no exceptions; candidates should avoid any substances that could result in a positive screen, including CBD products
- Previous permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Orientation includes non-billable online modules averaging 6–8 hours, completed during orientation
- Local candidates are not accepted for this position
