Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU Nurse Manager position in Montana, requiring a BSN, leadership experience, and an active MT or compact RN license.

Details

• ICU Nurse Manager role within a hospital's Nursing Administration department
• Primary schedule is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexibility to meet unit needs on some evenings and weekends
• 36 hours per week, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active MT RN license required; valid compact licenses must be transferred to Montana within 60 days of the start of the assignment
• BSN from an accredited institution required (degree will be verified)
• Current AHA BLS certification required; must not expire prior to start date
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience required
• Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
• Leadership or supervisory experience required
• Specialty certification preferred
• Demonstrated experience in the area of oversight preferred
• DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for overseeing the clinical nursing environment, day-to-day operations, strategic planning, and standards of care for the unit
• Manages departmental budget including annual capital, operating, and personnel (FTE) budgets, with approximately 40% of duties focused on operational responsibilities such as supply acquisition and employee performance evaluations
• Approximately 50% of duties are tactical, covering staffing and equipment availability; approximately 10% are strategic, focused on developing goals aligned with the regional strategic plan
• Responsible for staff hiring, orientation, retention, competency verification, performance reviews, and peer reviews
• Coordinates compliance with patient safety initiatives and regulatory bodies including Joint Commission, OSHA, CMS, and DOPL
• Partners with physicians and collaborates with nursing leaders and facility departments to achieve clinical, operational, and service goals
• Supports student nurse activities and staff participation in community outreach organizations
• Must complete required Intermountain Health leadership training and development courses within one year of accepting the position
• Former permanent Intermountain Health employees must have been separated from any Intermountain facility for at least one year to be eligible
