Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU Float position requiring at least 1 year of experience, Epic proficiency, and a Georgia or Compact RN license.

Details

• Hospital-based PCU Float position covering all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the facility
• Adult to geriatric patient population with general MS, MS/Tele, and PCU diagnoses
• Patient ratios: 1:4–5 on PCU; 1:5–6 on MS and MS/Tele units
• Floating required across all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the hospital
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends over a 13-week contract)
• No on-call responsibilities
• EMR: Epic (required); also uses Pyxis and SBAR communication framework
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Epic proficiency required
• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) strongly preferred

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted
• Navy blue scrubs required
• RTO maximum of 7 days per contract; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
• RTO blackout dates apply for Spring Break (April 4–12)
• Holiday coverage policy: travelers are expected to work all major holidays that fall within their assignment period if one or two occur; if three occur, travelers must work two and may request one holiday off — Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a travel nurse
• No special scheduling requests, alternate shifts, or schedule changes are permitted — the posted shift is firm
• Travel pairs may not be assigned to the same shift on the same unit
