Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced travel RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position at a Magnet-designated academic medical center, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.
Details
- Cardiothoracic ICU (CVICU) setting within a 637-bed Magnet-designated academic teaching hospital
- 1:1 patient ratios
- Manages complex cardiothoracic ICU cases including ventilator-dependent patients and PA line monitoring
- Procedures include ventilator management, IV starts, and PA line management
- Charting via Epic (preferred, not required)
- Available shifts: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) and Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM), 3x12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend shifts required unless otherwise noted on the posted schedule
- Floating within the hospital to other ICU units is required; floating to sister hospitals is not required
- Block scheduling is not available unless otherwise noted on the posting
Requirements
- Active WA RN license or compact RN license; pending WA license accepted
- Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 2 years of cardiothoracic or cardiovascular ICU experience
- At least 2 prior travel assignments beyond initial hospital employment required; first-time travelers are not eligible
- Proficiency with ventilator management, IV starts, and PA lines
- COVID vaccination and booster required — no exceptions
- Teaching hospital and trauma hospital experience preferred
Additional Information
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius restriction applies
- Prior UW staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 18 months before being eligible to return as a traveler
- RTO may not be requested during orientation week and should otherwise be kept to a minimum; up to 7 days of RTO may be taken in November/December, with the requirement to work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Scrubs in any color are acceptable; scrubs are provided for OR personnel
- Parking is available at a cost of $10.26 per day
