Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a PCU Float position requiring at least 1 year of experience, Epic proficiency, and a GA or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Hospital-based PCU Float position covering all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units within the facility
  • Adult to geriatric patient population with MS, MS Tele, and PCU diagnoses
  • Patient ratios of 1:4–5 on PCU and 1:5–6 on MS/MS Tele units
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
  • Every other weekend required (approximately 6 weekends over a 13-week contract)
  • Floating required across all MS, MS/Tele, and PCU units
  • No on-call requirements
  • Epic EMR required; Pyxis and SBAR communication also used
  • 12-week contract

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring, interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
  • Proficiency in IV therapy, blood product administration, and peripheral/central line care
  • Experience with respiratory support including BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
  • Ability to manage cardiac and vasoactive drips (titration and non-titration)
  • Two supervisory references (manager level or above) highly preferred; charge nurse references are not accepted
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates who have worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
  • Navy blue scrubs required
  • RTO maximum is 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
  • Spring Break (April 4–12) is an RTO blackout period
  • Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2 of them and one holiday RTO request may be reviewed for approval
  • Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day
  • No alternate shift or schedule change requests are accepted — the posted shift is firm
  • Local candidates are accepted for this position
