Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of IR experience for a position at a large Level I Trauma Center and academic medical center in Connecticut.
Details
- Short-term acute care hospital setting within an Interventional Radiology unit across two campuses (York Street Campus and Saint Raphael Campus)
- Level I Trauma Center with 1,567 total staffed beds
- Mixed weekly schedule: two 12-hour day shifts (7:30 AM–8:00 PM) and two 8-hour shifts (either 7:00 AM–3:30 PM or 11:30 AM–8:00 PM)
- No weekend requirement and no on-call requirement
- Procedures include abdominal/pelvic interventions, vascular and endovascular procedures, neurological studies, genitourinary procedures, venous access, and more
- Preferred procedures include Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) of the liver, radio embolization, vertebroplasty, carotid stenting, and TIPS
- Equipment used includes GE Innova IGS fluoroscopy system, Philips ultrasound, and PACS
- Charting via Epic (required)
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience (1.5 years may be considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
- ARRT (R) and BLS certifications required
- Travel experience required
- Trauma center experience at a large facility required; Level I Trauma experience preferred
- CT state license required if applicable — license must be active prior to start date (allow 15–21 business days for CT license to issue)
- Proficiency with fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and PACS systems
- Experience with a broad range of IR procedures including angiography, embolization, stent placement, venous access, and image post-processing
- 1 professional reference required for consideration
- First-time travelers will not be considered
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include equipment setup, room circulating, scrubbing and maintaining sterile field, prepping access sites, post-processing of images, and equipment/supply maintenance
- Bi-campus coverage between two hospital sites is required
- Flu vaccine is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID vaccine with booster is required; religious and medical exemptions are accepted
- RTO exceeding 7 days requires facility approval
- Candidates must have been away from the facility for at least 2 years to be eligible to return as a traveler
- Misty Green OR scrubs are provided
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
- Parking cost is $125
- Mandatory orientation modules (approximately 1 hour) are completed pre-start and annually; modules are non-paid
