Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit position requiring telemetry strip reading ability and a minimum of 1.5–2 years of relevant experience.

Details

• Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit in a hospital setting
• Patient ratios are typically 1:4, with flex to 1:5 in emergencies
• Patient acuity varies and may include Progressive Care or Telemetry-level patients
• Telemetry monitoring is a core component of patient care
• Shift: Days, 3x12 (7:00 AM–7:00 PM), weekdays with some weekends
• Uses Cerner EMR
• 13-week contract with possibility of extension
• Blocked schedules may be considered for weekend blocks only (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg or Telemetry experience required; 2 years of Stepdown experience preferred
• Proficiency in IV insertion and telemetry strip reading required
• Two manager or charge nurse references from within the past 2 years required for consideration
• Valid driver's license and Social Security card required for consideration

• Travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Scrubs are not provided; burgundy and/or white scrubs required
• Holiday RTO requests are limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays
