Description

American Traveler is seeking a Cath Lab Technologist for a 13–26 week contract at a 562-bed Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated acute care hospital, with a minimum of 1 year of cardiac cath lab experience required.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting — Level I trauma center and Magnet-designated facility with 562 staffed beds
  • Cardiac Cath Lab unit; no interventional radiology (IR) component
  • Patient population includes middle and older adults
  • Procedures include diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, cardiac implant closure devices, IABP placement/removal, and rotablader atherectomy
  • Charting via Cerner (experience required)
  • 4x12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM; 3x12 schedule may also be available
  • Will work 2–3 weekends per contract
  • On-call required on a rotating basis with staff and agency travelers; call frequency is flexible based on census — dedicated call team is in place
  • No floating required within this position

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab settings
  • Active ARRT and/or RCIS certification required
  • Active BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI AHA cards not accepted)
  • Active professional license required at time of consideration — license required if applicable
  • Proficiency in cardiac cath lab procedures: PCI, PTCA, left/right heart catheterization, IABP placement/removal, cardiac stent and implant closure device procedures, rotablader atherectomy, and scrub procedures
  • Ability to recognize life-threatening arrhythmias and dysrhythmias
  • Experience with equipment setup, sterile technique, and isolation precautions
  • Cerner EMR experience required
  • SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required

Additional Information

  • Contract length is flexible — candidates may choose a 13-week or 26-week assignment
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction
  • Former permanent or PRN employees of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler
  • Travel pairs are not accepted at this facility
  • Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during their contract
  • RTO of 5 days or fewer per contract is generally accommodated; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval
  • All time-off and scheduling requests should be disclosed upfront
  • Scrubs are provided by the facility
  • Free parking is available on-site with a permit obtained during orientation
  • All floating within scope is 100% required of travelers and may include floating to an affiliate hospital nearby
