Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery - Obstetrics position requiring ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring certifications with day/night rotating shifts in an acute care setting.

Details

• Acute care OB unit with 4 triage beds, 5 LDR rooms, 11 postpartum beds, a newborn nursery, and a 3-bed continuing care nursery
• Patient population includes low-risk patients at 36 weeks gestation and above
• Labor ratio is 1:1; postpartum couplet ratio is 3:1
• Common diagnoses and care include labor, postpartum, and newborn nursing
• RNs are required to titrate drips, including Pitocin
• RNs must read strips for C-section recovery; no telemetry monitors or monitor techs on unit
• Infant CPAP available in the continuing care nursery with NNP coverage
• Charge nurse and house supervisor are in-house 24/7; charge nurse does not take an assignment
• NCAs and scrub techs are on unit 24/7
• EMR: Epic
• 12-hour day/night rotating shifts
• Self-scheduling with every other weekend and every other holiday required
• No on-call or standby requirement
• No floating required
• 13-week contract

Requirements

• Active PA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Experience in labor, postpartum, and newborn nursing care required
• BSN not required
• A copy of an unexpired driver's license is required for consideration
• Any hits on a professional license must be disclosed at time of consideration

Additional Information

• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Travelers who have previously worked at any WVU Medicine location must have taken a 2-year break before re-applying
• Travelers may not work within the WVU system for more than one cumulative year without taking a 2-year break
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided
