Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position in Gastonia, NC, requiring a NC or compact RN license and experience across multiple imaging modalities.

Details

Work in the Imaging Nursing Unit of an acute care hospital setting in Gastonia, NC
Patient population is primarily adults, with some pediatric patients (infants and children undergoing MRI with anesthesia) and both inpatient and outpatient cases
Imaging modalities include CT, Ultrasound, MRI, and Interventional Radiology
Schedule is four 10-hour day shifts per week (0700–1730)
Weeknight on-call hours are 1730–0700, up to one weeknight per week
Weekend on-call rotation every 5th week, covering Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (1730–0700)

Requirements

Active RN license in NC or a compact state license currently in hand
Current BLS certification required
Prior Interventional Radiology or imaging nursing experience required

Additional Information

Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure care for patients undergoing radiology services or stress testing, as well as intra-procedure patient monitoring across various imaging modalities
No time off permitted on holidays, including the day before and the day after each holiday

Work load is nice! The docs are great, and room rotations are great as well.

Cons

Charting here is terrible. You have to perform 7 steps to achieve the same goal where as if you used epic it would only require 2 steps. Plus, you must print out several pieces of paper for documenting charges instead of having someone on staff who codes the charges for you.
