Description

American Traveler is hiring a Mammography Coordinator to lead and coordinate a comprehensive breast imaging program, requiring ARRT certification in both Radiography and Mammography with preferred experience in the mammography field.

Details

• Diagnostic imaging setting within a hospital-based mammography department
• Works closely with the Imaging Director, Radiologist Medical Director, and the broader imaging team
• Performs low-dose x-ray mammography procedures and osteoporosis (bone density) exams
• Oversees quality control and quality improvement requirements to meet ACR/FDA/MQSA certification standards, including the MQSA BI-RADS program
• Patient population spans the full age continuum requiring age-appropriate care competency
• 4x10-hour day shifts, Monday–Thursday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM
• 8-week contract

Requirements

• ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M) required
• FDA MQSA mammography certification required
• BLS/CPR at the Healthcare Provider (HCP) level required
• Graduated from an ARRT-approved radiologic technology program or equivalent alternate training
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in the mammography field preferred
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills required
• Proficiency with diagnostic mammography and osteoporosis equipment
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs occasionally and perform frequent/prolonged standing and walking
• Ability to lift, position, push, and transfer patients and move heavy equipment
• License required if applicable

Additional Information

• Serves as the primary mammography education resource for physicians, patients, and technologists
• Leads MQSA compliance efforts including technologist certification and departmental statistical reporting
• Collaborates with the Radiologist Medical Director on clinical aspects of the mammography program, including staff competency evaluations
• Reviews pathology, surgical, and delivery reports to track patient progress and assess diagnostic accuracy
• Critiques completed study quality with the Radiologist Medical Director and determines if additional imaging is needed
• Assists in employee orientation, training, and performance evaluations
• Responsible for maintaining QC/QI documentation, scheduling, and patient recordkeeping
• Provides radiation protection for patients, staff, and self in accordance with established safety standards
• Maintains professional development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations
