Description
American Traveler is hiring a Interventional Radiology Technologist with 3+ years of IR experience and ARRT certification for a 13-week contract in an endovascular hybrid OR setting.
Details
- Work in two endovascular hybrid suites located within the operating room
- Responsibilities include scrubbing into endovascular cases to assist the surgeon and operating a C-arm during open vascular cases for vascular surgeons
- 1:1 patient ratio
- Procedures include angioplasty, aortography, embolization, endograft placement, IVC filter placement and removal, mesenteric angiogram, pelvic angiography, renal angiography, selective visceral angiography, stent placement, carotid stenting, central venous access/port placement, dialysis graft creation/revision, fistulograms/declots, endovascular interventions, upper and lower extremity angiography, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and laser-assisted procedures
- Equipment includes Siemens imaging systems, C-arm, ultrasound, and vascular closure systems (Perclose, StarClose)
- PACS used for pulling up imaging; Epic used for documentation; Pyxis for medication management
- 4x10 hour day shifts from 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM
- Call requirement of one night per week and every third weekend
- Every third weekend required
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of Interventional Radiology experience required
- ARRT certification required (R and VI, or R and CV)
- BLS required
- Prior travel experience required — first-time travelers are not accepted for this position
- Proficiency with C-arm, Siemens equipment, ultrasound, PACS, and fluoroscopy
- Experience with vascular closure systems, sterile technique, and isolation precautions
- Ability to scrub and maintain sterile field during endovascular procedures
- License required if applicable
Additional Information
- Operates and maintains Siemens imaging equipment and C-arm during cases
- Responsible for equipment setup, access site prep, maintaining sterile field, maintaining equipment, and stocking/managing supplies
- Contract staff may be assigned to a Storm Team or Hurricane Team and may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
- Mid-contract consolidation to a centralized office may occur, with possible reassignment to other units as needed
- Orientation is 2 weeks / 80 hours
- Scrubs are provided
- RTO is not permitted after booking and cannot be arranged on-site; call-offs or additional RTO may result in contract cancellation
- Maximum of 7 RTO days allowed during the contract
- Local candidates are accepted
