Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Neuro Unit position in Tyler, TX, requiring a valid TX or compact RN license and at least 2 years of experience.

Details

• Work in a 19-bed private room Medical Surgical Neuro Unit
• Patient population spans young adults through geriatric patients, with medical, surgical, neurology, and neurosurgical diagnoses
• Unit is equipped with telemetry and oximetry monitoring
• Patient ratio is 1:6
• Day shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Epic EMR used; experience preferred but not required

Requirements

• Active TX or compact RN license currently in hand
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Current certifications required: BLS and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Travel nursing experience preferred
• Epic EMR experience preferred

Additional Information

• Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
• Restricted counties include Henderson, Anderson, Cherokee, Rusk, Panola, Smith, Gregg, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur, Camp, Hopkins, Franklin, Titus, and Morris
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler
• Travel pairs or groups will not be accepted
• RTO is limited to no more than 3 days and is not permitted during the first week of orientation
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
